Shopify Website Design
Most Shopify builds start with a theme and end with a checkout nobody trusts. I build the store around the buying decision first — product pages, cart flow and checkout — then make it look good, not the other way round.
What you get
DELIVERABLES
- Shopify theme build or customisation (Online Store 2.0)
- Product and collection page templates built for conversion, not decoration
- App audit — most stores run six apps doing the job of two
- Speed optimisation against Shopify's own Core Web Vitals thresholds
- Checkout and post-purchase flow setup, including upsells and the thank-you page
- Staff training on the admin so day-to-day changes don't need a developer
How it runs
THE PROCESS
Audit
Review the current store, or the competitors you're benchmarking against, and find where shoppers actually drop off.
Structure
Map collection and navigation architecture around how people actually shop, not how the warehouse is organised.
Build
Theme customisation or build, product templates, and an app stack kept lean on purpose.
Launch & train
Pre-launch QA across devices, then a working session so your team can run day-to-day changes without me.
Questions
GOOD QUESTIONS
Not for most builds — Shopify's own theme editor covers a lot of ground. I use custom code only where the theme genuinely can't do what the brand needs, which keeps ongoing maintenance in your hands rather than mine.
Yes — WooCommerce, Squarespace and BigCommerce migrations are common. Product data and SEO redirects are the two things that get botched most often, and where I spend the most care.
Part of the audit. Most Shopify stores pay monthly for three apps doing overlapping jobs — cutting that is usually the fastest win before design even starts.
