The challenge
The company sold to everyone and therefore convinced no one. Sales cycles were long, discovery calls started from scratch every time, and the deck could have belonged to any of eleven competitors with the logo swapped out.
An imminent raise made the vagueness expensive: investors could not repeat the pitch back.
The approach
Twenty-two interviews across customers, churned accounts and lost deals surfaced one segment that closed twice as fast and churned half as often — and that segment was not the one the marketing spoke to.
We rewrote positioning around that segment, built the messaging framework and objection handling from their language, and rebuilt the visual identity and site to match. Sales enablement shipped in the same engagement so the new story survived first contact.
The results
Sales cycles shortened materially, inbound demo requests roughly doubled at flat spend, and the raise closed. The clearest signal was qualitative: prospects started repeating the positioning line back unprompted on first calls.
“Our brand finally has a point of view. Revenue followed within a quarter.”
